Political pressure mounting to declassify documents showing Saudi complicity in attacks
On Sunday Bob Graham, the former chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and co-chair of the bipartisan joint congressional inquiry into the 9/11 attacks, told CBS News he believes Saudi Arabia was behind the September 11, 2001, attacks. Information on the role played by the Saudis is said to be included in the classified “missing 28 pages” excised from the 838 pages of the Joint Inquiry report.
During the 60 Minutes segment, Steve Kroft asked Graham if he believes Saudi Arabia was involved in the attack. “Substantially,” the former senator responded. He said support came from the Saudi government, charities, and rich people in the country. Graham said that support was downplayed because of the “special relationship” between the United States and the kingdom.
